What kind of camera / setup would you recommend for recording and streaming a card and dice game?
Hi! I do streaming and recording for a card and dice game called Star Wars: Destiny. For a year now I have been using a Brio, a 4K usb webcam.
But now I think it is time to upgrade.
I have been struggling with a few issues. The biggest issue is glare, players play with cards in plastic sleeves that can get a ton of glare from overhead lighting. I have tried blocking out overhead lights with umbrellas but that usually doesn't work. I was hoping a "real" camera could use a lens to help cut down on the glare.
The other issue is just legibility - even though the Brio is a 4K camera it can be pretty blurry on the dice and being able to read the dice is important.
I have a couple different scenes made for shooting - one has a dice zoom area to help the dice easier to read - this is a pain to setup and players kind of hate it.
The other way is straightforward over the top camera and no zooming
I am looking for recommendations on a camera to buy or equipment to try out that would make for a better stream. Cut down on glare, increase the legibility of cards and dice, and as a bonus a recommendation on how to pick up player audio better!
Thanks in advance.
