Tamron 28-75mm soft?

Hey everyone,

I have the Tamron 28-75 and use it frequently when walking around town or when taking photos of my Jeep when I'm out and about. I've notice this lens is soft compared to all of my other lenses. I understand that they can be 'some' sacrifice in sharpness when using a telephoto compared to a prime, but this seems like more than alittle difference to me.

Comparing hand holding sharpness, these other lenses are much sharper: Sony 16-35 F4 OSS, Sony 70-200 F2.8 GM, Samyang 35mm f1. 4 FE, Sony 50 F1.8 FE, and Sony 85 F1.8 FE.

Just in general, is the Tamron lens just softer or could I have a bad copy? Can it be serviced/fixed/sharpened? I'm guessing even it if could, that would be a hassle and on my dime.

Thanks for any info and input.

Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS
