SD1M goes sports photography

Today I had the chance to attend an MX GP - first time I went out with my SD1 Merrill to shoot motor sports ...

Well, it worked surprisingly good (... though I had to wait a couple of times to get the buffer free again) - the SD1M together with the 80-200 f2.8 EX did a good job.

Those images are JPEG straight out the camera with no postprocessing.

For some time I used the 2x TC which gave me a huge 600 mm (equivalent) range, but did not work well regarding the focus and then the handheld exposure (1/400 sec) was not short enough to get really great images.

In the air ...

When looking to the side car competition I was absolutely fascinated by the acrobatic type job the second guy has to do all the time ...

A heavy vehicle's cornering ...

Uphill with speed and on just one wheel ...

It was really a new and wonderful experience ... and even the SD1M enjoyed the opportunity to do some sports ...

Have a lovely time and enjoy shooting Sigma.
