As for the EVF., I don't know if this is the reason,my guess is because of the heatsink on the fp with venting on the top and sides. That says to me, 'keep this away from your face'. There is a video of the heatsink design on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yrcJOr7lyg

Because this seems to primarily be a Cine camera. EVFs doesn't make sense for video.

Well, the GH5 has an EVF, as does the Panasonic S1, so I don't know where you're coming from, when you say EVFs doesn't make sense for video.

Both are also intended for stills and are bulky. This camera is intended to be put in a rig or drone. Hence the modular design. No need for grip when using a rig.

S1 is not a cine camera.

If the specs are right,f sync speed is only 1/15 or 1/30 depending on the recording format (12 vs 14 bit) for stills. I don't know if it is correct, but...

At any rate there is a HDMI port so I guess one could plug an EVF into that if somebody made one.

I'm sure Sigma will probably make one, but there are many EVF solutions out there that take an HDMI input. Here's one:

Was it not mentioned somewhere that they would encourage 3rd party accessory makers to make addons to the fp?

Here's a much larger and more expensive one:

The problem with those is they aren't really anything better than just adding the accessory viewer to the rear screen on the camera.

I'm trying to imagine some kind of mount adapter for this little EVF (but power supply is most likely a major problem):
