I'm about to take this trip. Bringing a Sony ⍺6000 (with a generic waterproof housing) and a GoPro Hero 3+. Thinking about getting a mask with an integrated GoPro mount (my current mask is >20 years old...). Will I need a magenta or red filter? (I think there are some cages that are down around 40' but I don't remember where I saw that.)

Thanks!

where are you taking the trip?

The Guadalupe guys have been making the cage openings smaller, as there was a number of incidents with sharks in the cage in 2016.  Consequence- there are a lot of bars.   You can readily get close to the opening so your view isn't obstructed, but a mount above your mask or attached to your reg may not be.    And your ability to track them as they go- inferior.   Much more capable with hand mount, but obviously not when using the Sony.

No red filter for the surface cage, but could be a choice for the submerged tank.   You do give up some light though - keep that in mind.
