Hey Shawn, you say they won't collapse on the Sony, but why?

You run the risk of it hitting the shutter or sensor?

When the Ricoh GXR launched their M-Mount module, it came with a plastic mold of the lens mount that you could use to test if a lens would hit something when collapsed / or a wide angle lens that protruded into the camera.

Many people use rubber gaskets to prevent the lens from collapsing all the way.

Though I can't be sure that's what he meant.
