How are you sure this is particular to Fuji?

As for the rest, this lack of control has bothered me for a long time, to such an extent that I now shoot mostly non-electronic third party (non-Fuji) lenses.  No more aperture trouble; it's always fully under my control.  Even in manual focus, I can focus these fully manual lenses at the chosen shooting aperture, because the camera can't control the lens at all.  Of course it also means I have to focus manually at all times...

There are some "tricks" to get the Fuji electronic lenses to settle into the chosen aperture continuously if you need that.   Search for other recent threads about the X-T3.

These tricks seem cumbersome to me, compared to what it should be: a set up menu option to use continuous chosen aperture in manual and aperture priority modes.   Will we ever see this?  Probably not.
