What is the quality of the video like on he EM10ii? There does not appear to be too many example videos online but the specs seem good. Without getting into the Panasonic/Sony are better for video argument for me I think stabilisation plays a major roll in overall viewing quality. Great but jittery footage is second to smooth video for me.

That said I was never greatly impressed with the footage out of the EM1 or EP5 so how does the EM10ii stack up today?

Can't say for the E-M10 II directly but I can compare the E-M5 Mark I and Mark II while assuming the E-M10 Mark II is similar. Mark I video suffered terribly from blockiness with fast pans or action but it is no longer present with Mark II. Also the digital 4x TC for video seems to be very good. The image is still on the soft side but completely serviceable.

E-M10 Mark II mark1 is good not amazing

It's definitely stepped up, and now the EM10ii and EM5ii essentially have the same video quality (though EM10ii doesn't have external mic input). It's not up to the same level as Panasonic but it's good for casual clips of family, etc.

The DPR review of the camera has sample videos.

I had EM5 and LX100, and wasn't happy either: EM5 has good stabilisation but less good video quality, LX100 has great 4K but it requires stabilization.

So I got EM10 mark II mainly for handheld video. Stabilisation is as good as (the original) EM5 has. I think 1080p50 video is decent. But I got spoiled with 4K video.

I just purchased G7 because LX100 is too tiny for my video monopod (no room to operate the lens, especially if ND filter is attached). The plastic body of G7 is a bit a turn off, but it seems to take great video and stills, and the size of the camera is great.

I lusted for the new Sony a6300 but I have so many m43 lenses so I decided to stay in the system. I also considered Samsung NX1 since it has great 4K video and stills capabilities, but the recent rumors make it less future-proof solution. If I had more Panasonic OIS lenses, I had purchased GX8.

So I think i have now watched every EM10 II and EM5 II video on YouTube and Vimeo and I am not so impressed. Some videos look ok but generally the straight out of camera stuff is pretty soft.

However I have also viewed some of the Pen F videos and while I am not really interested in this camera the video quality does look better. Let's hope the EM2 comes out soon (with 4K?)!!!!!

It all depends what you are looking for. John Brawlay's short film shows that OMDs provide decent video quality:

But I tend to agree. Generally speaking I am not either impressed on Oly as a video camera.

I'm getting both great 4K and 1080p footage with the All Intra codec.

Stay away from the flat and log profiles they kill what the camera can actually give you.

Have a good day.
