I faced a similar dilemma two years ago, and looked seriously at mirrorless. Ultimately I took a D5500, 18-55, 55-200, 10-20, and a DX35.  This kit had only one filter size(except for the 10-20) so that two polarizing filters covered all the lenses( a must for outdoor travel photography).  Very small ,lightweight, kit and I never missed a shot, or regretted not taking my full frame, or f2.8 zooms. The image quality of Nikons recent midrange APS-C lenses and the low light quality of their apc-c camera's are simply outstanding.  Yes, perhaps I might have gotten some better bokeh shots if I had had more 2.8 zooms or f.18 prime, but at significant cost in weight. That is the tradeoff you have to make for whatever system you pick. The pics below may not be great, but I think they show what you can get handheld with this kit pretty well.
