It's not just the weight, it's the size as well.

"Travel" can mean a lot of things, from sitting on a bus to extensive hiking to walking for hours through a new city

I got to the point where I wasn't taking a lot of pictures because I didn't like dragging a big DSLR around.  Too much, and I felt like a theft target Now I'll take a mirrorless with a prime or two and actually use them, and they are easy to tuck into a small messenger bag
