Re: X-Pro 2 and 18-55

I have a love-hate relationship with this lens. It's small compared to the f2.8 and has a good range for general travel, I've even used it for some magazine commissions with the X-Pro2 in situations where I didn't want to be changing my primes and it was good enough.

Having said that it's not a lens that inspires confidence in me. Mine had some alignment issues which have been corrected (more or less) by Fuji. It also seems to introduce some unusual  'shake' sometimes. Maybe I just have a bad copy. The rendering is average, it's reasonably sharp, especially at the wider end, but it's not a pleasant rendering and transitional areas are kind of nervous.

But all in all it's 'ok' for what it is and a useful lens in some situations.

Hope that helps.
