I have never used Precision Camera. Could part of the issue be related to other factors? Grey market goods have been popular due to lower initial price point; but repair, parts, and warranty work are generally not offered through the authorized network. Additionally, some brands have very limited regional visibility requiring users to seek alternate routes of service even for authorized dealer versions. Is it possible Precision has both higher service request volume and difficulty in accessing parts for these same reasons?

Any camera will be damaged in a fall. But, myou get the feeling that much of this stuff is “throw away” gear, designed not for rugged use or easy service, but in hopes it will last as long as the warranty coverage.

Precision Camera is the authorized service facility for Ricoh and Pentax repairs in the U.S.A.
