Nissin i400 overexposes

I am an amateur photographer, use my D7100 to take pictures on vacations and family events.

I took advantage of the sale on Nissin i400 flash at B&H for $79 (plus tax) to use it on vacations.

In home I use SB-700. I compared Nissin i400 with SB-700 and the images taken with Nissin flash were brighter then those taken with SB-700, by about 1/2- 1 stop. I used the same settings, in the evening in home, using ceiling light.

I like the flash and would like to keep it.

I wonder if it makes sense to get another one from B&H.

Is it "normal" for an aftermarket flash to over/underexpose?

Should I even bother with getting another one?

Usually, I tweak the exposure anyway when using flash.

I would appreciate a response from anyone who has experience with this flash or the i40.
