Hi everyone, got such a great response last time in my powerlines retouch thread, that I am here for more help / learning. I am needing to remove the design from the table top in this file due to legal reasons for stock photo submission. I am not bad with the clone stamp tool as I do have to remove logos often for stock etc, but it's such a large area I just know it's going to look fake if I try it. Can anyone advise, step by step, their best method? Photoshop only please!

Instead of the clone tool, I selected the table area and used this selection to fill it in with the colour of the table. I then added back in the reflections of his arms.

Cheers.

Be the reason that someone smiles today. Or the reason they drink.
Whatever works.

Forget the clone stamp. Select and fill the area with a solid color. Then add highlights, shadows and noise to resemble the table surface.

Thanks can you show me how to do that step by step maybe? Also, it looks a bit fake between the table and arm transition here?

Can you show me the steps to do this please?

Yes, this is a simpler way to go. Just be sure to add shadows on the wood, under the arm, and contact shadows along the edge of the object on the table.
Hi looks better. Can you explain those layers and how you achieved this specifically?
If the layers aren't self-explanatory, then you need to find tutorials and learn about layers and layer masks. That would be too much to try to explain here. Sorry.

I was thinking more where you got the wood etc from?

Just search for wood background image.

Thankyou i'll have a play. Any other suggestions to not making this wood and just fixing the glass table?

There are all sorts of background textures available for free. This is textured glass. There are also metal textures that look like glass. Just do a search.
