Is my understanding that with this smooth and crispy detail control in spp 6.6.1, a more "detailed" look when set towards the crisper side can be obtained for the quattro. How close is it to the Merrill look if at all? I been considering dpm for it looks, or a dpq for colors, a little more battery, and slightly better performance. Thanks.

Better is to put it to the smooth side and sharpen. The Merrill look is not nice for portraits, quattro much better at that. Battery life is also much much better and so is handling. You have SFD and better colours with Quattro.

I really hope that with the Sigma FF one can control microcontrast in SPP.

That makes me wonder if the Detail tool will be available in SPP with the raw files from the full-frame camera.
