Some pics taken with the 16/2.8 and early conclusions

I bought my 16/2.8 as part of a package deal here in NZ and bought it as I like the size and weight of it. I am however uncertain at this stage as to whether I will keep it.

Here are a few shots taken with the X-T3 which addresses hard contrast (the night shots) bokeh (the dried up sad looking mandarin, yellow flower), closest focusing distance (some flower shots) and across the frame sharpness (runner on the beach).

And regarding detail:

100% crop

And the runner in 100% to check border sharpness:

So possibly not as sharp as the 16/1.4 and also not as border-sharpness capable, but the size and portability might make up for it. Since I hardly ever print larger than 12" these days I think it's an interesting addition.

What do you think?
