ND Filter Buying Advice XF 10-24mm

I'm looking to buy my first set of ND filters and just after some advice on which would be the best to buy. My budget is about £150 so I guess I'd be looking at mid range filters? I'm thinking of buying a 3 stop and 10 stop to start with, will mainly be using for long exposures on waterfalls, lakes etc. Am I better off getting round or square filters? I was thinking of getting round 72mm Hoya ones to fit my 10-24 and then buying step up rings so that I could use them on my xf 35 1.4 and xf 18-55, would this work? I don't want to go too cheap, I borrowed some cheap square ones yesterday to use on my xf 35 and they worked ok but when I've checked the images on my computer the colours are way off, they have a magenta colour cast is this the case for all filters? Any advice would be much appreciated!
