You already know about the 70-200 2.8L IS III

There have been countless reviews about the Canon 70-200 2.8L IS II and III. You've read how good the Image Stabilization is. Nothing new to know. But there's nothing like seeing it for yourself.

I recently purchased the 70-200 2.8L IS III. Not because I wanted to as I was very happy, content, with the original non-IS version. Had it for 14 years and used it heavily for over a decade with various cameras starting with the Digital Rebel 300D and to my current 7D MK2. The lens never malfunctioned over those 14 years. Until I dropped it onto asphalt over a week ago.

Well, that gave me the excuse to pick up a brand new 70-200 2.8L IS III. Canon e-Store. I wanted to buy it from but they didn't sell it. They had various resellers but I wanted it from "Sold and Shipped from Amazon". As much as I liked the older lens, I have always wanted IS. Well, now i have it and love it.

Took the lens out late today to test the IS. Never could have done this with the older non-IS lens, good as it is.  Keep in mind, I am not a steady hand-holder of lenses.  The lens is usually jerking around.  But I have IS now

Full-frame down-sized, handheld with a 1.4x III. 1/8, ISO 800, 280mm.

Next image is at 1/15, same settings as above. Full-frame first.
