camera selection re: low light autofocus

so I have a Canon 70D and in low light conditions, poor contrast, I don't get great autofocus results using the viewfinder, so I revert to live view and it usually produces the desired result.

What are good choices for low light autofocus success using a viewfinder? Should a mirrorless like an M50 yield better results? Crop sensor is normally good enough for what I do.

Are there other brands I should consider?

Canon EOS 70D Canon EOS M50 (EOS Kiss M)
