28" 4K screens with TN panels can be had downright cheap these days, and some actually give a very nice picture. They still suffer from the poorer viewing angles, but they've improved a lot in recent years. I have a 28" 4K Acer screen at work that's a TN panel and I have no problems staring at it for 8 hours a day. You could do photo work on it without issue. That said, when I come home and fire up my IPS screens I can see a difference.

Probably the same as mine; good value at USD$400.

Good to see that I'm not totally fooling myself.

Might be. I forget the exact model number, but I think it's a B####K series or similar. I bought it about 3 years ago and paid right at $400. It was one of the early budget 28" 4K monitors available. It's been worth every penny.

I calibrated it once just to test and it gives a nice, contrasty picture. I don't find the viewing angle a problem at normal distance. It's noticeable, but not enough to impede image editing in any meaningful way. Anybody who says modern TN panels can't be suitable for photo editing are just looking down their noses IMHO.

Nice setup.

Thanks! That's screen upgrades over about 5 years all piled onto one desk. I just keep adding rather than replacing lol.
