I disagree.  Just change posture while looking at a large TN panel and the colors and contrast will shift top to bottom.  It's fine for a TV because you view it far enough away that the color shifts aren't an issue.  And for a laptop, maybe it's small enough to avoid large angle changes.    But for a large monitor right in front of you, you will see it.  You'll never have the whole screen look the same without leaning way back.

I'm far from a monitor snob, but IPS or nothing for photo editing.  Even bargain basement IPS with less than 100% sRGB beats the best TN.
