How to replace rotten Quantum X2 flash cords?

I have a couple of Quantum X2 flashes, and the casing for the power cords is starting to rot.  I've had this happen with some extension cords; those I just toss and replace.  I had it happen to one of my head extenders; that one I had Quantum replace the cord.  But it took them a long time trying to track down the correct cable.

So now my X2 flash cords are starting to peel the casing.  I was wondering if anyone had a solution to this issue, other than sending them to Quantum for a pricy repair.  I'm willing to replace the coiled cable with straight...just need a line on a source for the proper replacement cable.  Or a suggestion on where to send them for reasonable priced repair.
