Actually I'll find it quite useful when shooting products in studio (yes I do it often with the A9) and mostly because it will allow the camera to sync flash with fully electronic shutter..

Sure, and that is about the only time it’s useful. But I don’t think it’s on the top he list when it comes to improvements for the A9.

Yes..I agree with you, but it is a piece of firmware that's already there, ready from the A7RIII, so maybe they will simply put it in without spending too much effort in it, like with other functionalities (animal eye AF and intervalometer just to say a couple..)
