Sony a6300 autofocus issue at 100 fps

Hey guys,

So at a few night events I was shooting in the past weeks I noticed that when i was using the 100fps option in manual mode but using an autofocus mode such as AFC, AFA, etc - the camera would hunt so badly that the footage would be unusable. what's more, it wouldn't even go into focus after a while but the motor would keep trying to turn even though it's maxed out. In a panicked frenzy to capture the moment, i would switch to auto so that i wouldn't lose the important stuff and it would work brilliantly - but obviously auto only does 50fps.

So I decided to try a test. I left the camera in manual and the only setting i changed was the FPS, down to 50 from 100. Lo and behold - the autofocus is amazing.

See this video to find out what i'm talking about:

That get me wondering - am i missing something? Is this a common problem in the a6300? or is it a hardware defect of some sort?

The lense used in the video is the mighty sigma 1.4 16mm - but this problem has happened on the 1.4 30mm and the kit lens too!!

Any help would be very much appreciated guys!
