Setting focal length with vintage lens

hi everyone. When I use vintage lenses on my G85, it will ask me to set the focal length and the default is 50mm. Is this so the camera can calibrate the IBIS? What is this for? But the bigger question is how to answer this question. Let’s say I’m using a 50mm FF lens (nifty fifty)... would I say 50mm or 100mm (it’s equivalent in m43). To make things more confusing how are you supposed to answer this question if you’re using a speedbooster? And does any of this actually matter?
