About "fragility" of N1 lenses

Hi everyone,
many times we have discussed about the well-known fragility of the aperture mechanism in many N1 lenses (above all 70-300 and 32/1.2...)
I have used for about 7 years many N1 lenses: 70-300 (permanently sticked on my V2), 32/1.2 (unbeatable for portrait), various 10-30...but never had failures, in spite of tons of shots.
But I have never used Program or Shutter Priority...only M and AV option.
What does that have to do with N1 diaphragms? The fact is that I suspect that using Program or Shutter Priority option, especially in conjunction with higher frame rates (30-60fps), may damage the flimsy mechanism due to high frequency open-close diaphragm cycles. Naturally, this is only my improbable theory, but I'm interested to your opinion.
Ciao and sorry for my really uncertain english :-I
Toni (from Italy)
