Camera and Lens for Bird Photos

I currently have a Canon Sx50 which has served me well for birding for several years.  I am at the point where I would love to have a better zoom, which means a removable lens.  Many birding sites recommend a 70 x 300 lens.  I am interested in the Canon EOS t7i with a third party lens since the Canon 70 x 300 lens is not too popular.  Is this camera something that I would be happy with, is it too complicated, or will I outgrow it soon?  I don't want to spend thousands on a set up to get pictures that are not exponentially better than what I am getting with my current setup.  Any comments or suggestions are most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Canon EOS Rebel T7i / EOS 800D / Kiss X9i
