Is the AF assist lamp on the A7 III supported when using third party lenses?

Hello, I've just been running low light autofocus tests in my bedroom at 35mm with my Sony A7 III and the three lenses I currently own and was surprised to find out that my samyang 35mm 2.8 couldn't focus on the wall at 2.8, that my Tamron 28-75 2.8 couldn't focus on the wall at 2.8 but quite surprisingly the Sony 16-35 F4 had no problem focusing on the wall at F4. However it's also the only one which actually started the AF assist lamp. I tried to close the other two lenses at F4 to see if that would have the AF assist lamp kick in, but to no avail. So this has me wondering is the Sony a7III AF assist lamp supported when using third party lenses?
