Digital zoom in finder

I was going to ask a question, but the answer became obvious.

Using the Z7 to crop later in post makes it a little more difficult to compose in the viewfinder.   So my thought was to have different frames available and to zoom in the viewfinder when one know in advance that a crop will occur to aid in composition.

The answer, as a first cut, is to shoot in DX mode.  So I'll try that.   Does anybody switch from FX to DX on the fly like that just to aid on composition?
