D7500 vs D500 shutter delay

I did own D500 couple of times but I have never owned D7500 before. I was looking to pick up a body for birding (to use with my 70-200VRII and 200-500 lenses). Reviewing D7500 on imaging-resource site, I noticed that

D7500 has shutter lag of 0.075 second vs D500 shutter lag of 0.170.     It appears that D500 shutter lag is over 2 times as slow.    D500 has 10fps vs  D7500 with 8.2fps, but it appears because of shutter delay, D7500 will fire two shots before D500 is able to fire its first.    When objects (birds) appear suddenly,  that makes a big difference.

The question is how much is D500 AF system betters D7500 in that it is still a better choice despite its much longer shutter delay.

I would appreciate any thoughts on the matter....
