D5500: what you see is what you get in VIEWFINDER?

I know in LIVEVIEW you dont have a what you see is what you get experience. But what about in the VIEWFINDER? (I havent tried one as of yet and may not be able to until next week...)

And what about the trick of changing the manual movie mode to on...I know you cant change AP in M mode, but can you if you are in P or AP mode?

I currently have a Canon t6i. I really like that the Nikon now does not have a anti-aliasing filter and allows for more details in the photos which (means to me) for more SOOC shots. I really dont like to do much editing like you do in landscape photos. I'm not into that. I tend to shoot pets more than humans.

I am also looking at the 18-105 or 18-140 (if I can get one inexpensively).

I lean towrds AP mode or P mode. I'll use AUTO if I am too frustrated...

I dont do video at all.

I am buying pre-owned.

TIA!

Canon EOS Rebel T6i (EOS 750D / Kiss X8i) Nikon D5500
