Moire comparison: Darktable vs. Lightroom

Just something I found interesting: I was shooting a killdeer recently (D500 / 500PF). One shot that wasn't the best posture had a striking amount of moire in the feathers. I've noticed that the rendering of the fine detail was quite different between Lightroom and two different demosaicing algorithms in Darktable (an open-source competitor).

Here are the samples (100% crops). All of them have noise reduction turned off and only default sharpening.

As a side note, the 500PF sucks in an enormous amount of detail; it's quite impressive.

Darktable, AMaZE demosaicing (the best algorithm)

Darktable, PPG demosaicing (a cruder algorithm)

Lightroom
