With that being said, u think maybe I should consider a camera with smaller zoom for clearer photo IE: Canon SX620?
IMO no the SX620 image quality should be very similar to using your sx730 at smaller focal lengths (less zoom). The sensor size on something like the sx620 is always going to limit you in the quality of the photos (of course that doesn't mean you can't get good photos with a 1/2.3" sensor camera, but equivalent aperture, noise, etc. all impact IQ). IMO you are much better off going with a 1" sensor or larger camera. 1" or larger camera photos will look much better in most cases especially in medium to lower light.
Agreed! The sensor is the limit. I use a SX730 in combo with a a5100 (APS-C) while travelling. Although the a5100 + kit zoom fit in some of my pockets, it's not ideal. I tried the TZ100, which has a 1'' sensor, and the images are cleaner when pixel peeping. But the lens of the TZ100 was so soft and fuzzy on the long end, I returned it. Now waiting for the G7xIII to compare to the RX100M6, which is a little expensive I think.
