Re: Having my first child, what is a solid but affordable upgrade from my X100?

I, like you and many others used the original X-100.  I was there for my grandchildren...portraits, parties, sports etc, etc, etc.  When my oldest grandchild got old enough she "borrowed" my X-100.  Long lead in, short advice...keep it.  Or, upgrade the X-100 to a later model dependent upon your budget.

There's a difference in opinions obviously but for me and my family less was more.  It was much more important for me to "be there" than to have the perfect piece of equipment.

ILC's add a lot but they also take a lot in return.  Concerns/confusion about which lens to use not to mention carrying and changing them take you out of the game, out of the moment.  Frankly, I'll put my family images against anyones.  It's all perspective.

Good luck in any case and congratulations
