I use a DSLR (6DM2) much of time and the viewfinder is so critical on a camera that large. Almost from a “habit” perspective I really miss a VF on the G7M2. Buuuuut, the G7M2 is so small in comparison it more or less makes up for it. I find myself picking up the G7M2 more and more just due to its convenient size and remarkable image quality. Also, I take so many photos with my iPhone now that going to the screen on the G7M2 doesn’t seem as abnormal as it used to.

Its a great camera and I would and do recommend it to people. Especially now that it is on the Canon refurb site more and more.

Best,

A good screen is better than a bad VF. And yes, the IQ of the G7X2 does improve towards the long end. It all depends where you shoot most. I'm wide-angle guy. So the Sont RX100III is a better choice albeit not as nice to use... Cant have it all
