Shutter problem

I've been all over the place during the past few years, veering from trying FF, MFT before coming back into Fuji's APS-C fold. I'd hung onto my old X-E2 during my ventures away.

I took delivery today of a brand new X-H1. It looks and feels fantastic in the hand with an excellent V/F

However I've hit a very early problem. I charged up the battery, inserted battery, inserted SanDisk UHS-11 card and formatted it, fired just one trial shot, and then the issue. The shutter appears to have locked up. Took the lens off and the sensor is not visible - the shutter curtain is down. Shutter was set to Mechanical Shutter.

No image is now visible at all.

I've tried all of the things that come immediately to mind like switching on/off, taking the battery out and re-inserting it, reset back to factory default settings.

My default position if I can't find a way to overcome this is simply to return for an exchange body. But before I take that step, is there anything else obvious that I should try.?

regards
