Fuji S5 Pro in 2018... Madness?

I'm basing this on the fact I owned the D200 and someone back there said it was basically the same camera - so maybe ask them why they made the comparison?

Looking at DXOmark confirms to me that it doesn't even stand up to lower end dslr today. The ISO performance is paltry and the DR is worse than a Sony A68

Have a check at when the Fuji S5Pro was introduced, it might not even stand a comparison next to a mobile phone nowadays but it's not all about numbers...

Nikon gave Fuji the D200 body, Fuji used their own S-CCD sensor and firmware, the camera still produces amazing results and there must have been a reason if it was so popular among wedding photographers, if all you know about it is that it shared the body with the D200 I'd advise to go back and read about it before making statements based purely on DXO numbers.

Back by the times I had the S5Pro I was still at the beginning of my photography journey nonetheless it got me amazing images and it still produces great skin tones, unfortunately it was slower than a sleeping bear, to flush the buffer took ages, the burst was almost non existent at about 1.1fps, the AA filter a bit too strong but portrait wise it can still compete with modern rigs but nowadays it all is about sharpness so that's a field where the S5Pro can't compete but coupled with old Nikon D lenses it does still great.
