Unfortunately the Hyper Utility software was super sluggish back in time and not supported any longer, at least it won't work on an Intel Mac and as such those of us who solely rely on Mac and still own and use an S5Pro can't get the full potential of the amazing S-CCD.

Hi Giovanni, the obvious obsolescence of hyper utility is why I compared it to capture one first, because c1 is suppose to be fuji s latest and greatest raw processor. I had hoped that fuji would have put all their historic know how into capture one, so that we would get as good as if not better processing of s5 files as the legacy tool that were available when the s5 launched.

However on first inspection it appears that capture one cannot fully replace hyper utility. I don't think I have a copy of silky pix, certainly not a recent one. So I can't try that. But I will try lightroom to see how that compares, and possibly darktable and rawtherapee.  Hyper utility is very clunky, so I would like to avoid it if I can, but not if going with any other processor costs effective image resolution and color.

Macs are quite restrictive when it comes to third party software. Its the reason why my poor imac has been in the attic for years. I love Mac design,  hardware, user interface etc. Just it's not got the broadest compatibility,  which ultimately is the purpose of a pc to run software. I have contemplated building a hybrid windows Mac hackingtosh pc so I could enjoy the best of both worlds.
