Re: Lens Choices for Trip to Singapore and Western Australia

Well, I am back from my trip.

Brought the following:

24-105 and the 100-400. Also brought the 40MM pancake.

I was glad I brought the 100-400 despite the weight. Got some decent pictures (kangaroos mostly) near Busselton that I would not have otherwise been able to take, plus some bird shots of exotic (to me) Australian birds. We had a car rented for a week so I did not have to lug it around all day long but could leave in car till needed.

Used the 24-105 for most of the other shots, and barely used the 40MM, although obviously it did not add much to the total weight.

Next trip is to Japan, a country I visit regularly. So far dithering whether to bring the Canon or my M4/3 set up. It's in late August early Sept and I know the heat and humidity will be brutal.

If Canon, I will bring 16-35 and 70-200 with 1.4 extender. I need that for some sports photos I will be taking.

If M4/3, that's a whole other discussion.

Thanks to all for the advice above.
