Just look at your data in LR and decide if you need 2.8.

The choice was easy for me after I looked at my APSC data.  My main lenses were the sigma 18-35 and 50-100mm 1.8 lenses adapted on my A6500.    The majority of my shots were taken at F 2.2+ and a lot of them were around F2.8-f4 so the 2.8 APSC is full frame 4.2 equivalent.  The 18mm so 27mm FF equivalent was never wide enough and I wish I had 4 more meters that I contemplated getting the Sigma 16mm.  Just for the 4mm.

I watched a lot of reviews and in many of them people talked about how you get better lowlight, but then the majority of their samples are are in great light.

Chose the 24-105mm because I valued the 4mm and longer reach more than 2.8.  I have the 50mm 1.8 and plan to get one of the 35mm 1.4 primes if I need a lowlight lens.
