Tips for setting camera for birds in flight?

Can someone point me to a thread or other source of advice on camera settings for birds in flight?  I have a K1 and K3ii.  Advice also for another persons K70 appreciated too.

I usually use AF.C with either centre cluster of points or all points.  Single point for static birds.  1/2500+, F8+ and let ISO do what it likes to a 3200limit.

I have seen some thread comments on back button focussing but found them confusing.  Same for a thread on using the SEL selection of AF points, which I thought simply enabled one to choose which point or group of points to use.

Any help appreciated as I have booked an osprey hide next week.
