Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate your inputs, and learnt new things from you and had a better understanding of ES. I think EFCS will improve the image, EFCS still have shutter noise. My original goal is to find a way enable silent shooting w/IBIS using Tamron lens.

You could do that with a dumb adapter.

AF yes. Aperture? I thought he was talking about a G lens.

Sorry for not being very clear on this. It is a Tamron 70-200/2.8 G2 lens.

This lens I was thinking of, right? I am not familiar with Tamron, perhaps they have other models as well, but to use this one you definitely need the electrical contacts, perhaps you can focus manually without, but that's it. Does not seem to have aperture ring, just like the Nikon G or S lenses. So I think, hacking the lens is not a good idea, it would be better to get it fixed through firmware or service if needed.

Nikon G lenses don't have aperture rings. The aperture is set from the body with a lever. Dumb G compatible adapters have such a lever. It's actuated from the adapter manually.
