You think XQD cards are expensive anyone remember IBM Microdrives?

When DSLR's were first introduced memory was extremely expensive, but thank God the files were very small compared to today. The cards capacity was measured in megs instead of gigs.

The IBM Microdrive was a 1" hard disk that fit in the compact flash slot of your camera.

I had the 1 gig version when they fist came out in 1990 and the cost was $400.

YES $400 for 1 gig of space and there was  no such thing as a 1 gig compact flash card at that time.

So compard to then you are paying peanuts for memory now-a-days!!
