Whats in your future

I was just looking on the page with Canon cameras listed by years. From 2012  until  2016, Canon offered an average of 16 new model cameras every year. Then only 9 in 2017 and 6 in 2018. Two cameras are announced so far in 2019.  The phones obviously took a good bite but it is also looking like very little will be offered that isn't an interchangeable lens camera in the near future. I've had more than 50 years of film cameras and lenses and I wont do it anymore . I think a lot of people are in that boat.  The older you get, the easier its supposed to be.  I'm guessing there may not be a successors to most of the cameras we have today in short time.   Will you start buying  lenses all over again or just drop out  and take up astronomy or some other hobby?  Maybe just hang on to your old camera until  it reaches it's MTBF.
