70-200 f/2.8 VR I vs 70-300 f/4.5-5.6E AF-P VR

I have a 70-200 f/2.8 VR I that I bought in the very beginning of my falling for photography, back in 2004. I don't use it much any more, and when I do, I use it mostly for landscape. I have a small sentimental attachment to this old friend, but it's rare that I need f/2.8 in this focal length range, and I'm thinking of getting a 70-300 f/4.5-5.6E AF-P VR to pretty much replace it - but if the old lens is of similar image quality at, say, f/5.6-f/11, I may just keep it instead.

Leaving aside the 200-300 range, which lens would you choose for landscape image quality in the f/5.6 and smaller apertures?
