Older DSLR's still being used in 2019

Considering the high prices of quality equipment, and the fact that not all photographers can afford to upgrade their equipment every year, I wonder how many photographers out there are using older cameras that still produce acceptable image quality to their clients. Have some of your clients (especially commercial agencies) declined your images produced by an older camera because their technical quality did not meet today's standards?

In other words, what is your own experience on how often a pro digital camera should be upgraded?

By looking at DP Review and other camera news sites, one always get the impression that all photographers have got the latest and greatest equipment, but the truth is more likely to be far from it.

Thanks,
MaxiMax
