There is a bit of stuff about the Bionz setup at that needs to be updated to include the current models. The Bionz X setup is the one of interest in the RX100 M6, it is the latest image processing chip pair.

A bit from the Wiki page .....

"It [Bionz X] features, among other things, detail reproduction technology and diffraction-reducing technology, area-specific noise reduction and 16-bit image processing + 14-bit raw output. It can process up to 20 frames per second and features Lock-on AF and object tracking"

That chipset gets used in various ways in the various latest models and we all know that the M6 does 24 frames per second, even when shooting raw+jpeg - but that buffer sure takes its time to clear.
