As one of the previous posters has suggested, maybe you are using multiple exposure mode. You can switch it off here:

Menu > Photo Shooting Menu > Multiple exposure > Multiple exposure mode > Off

You also may have High Dynamic Range (HDR) activated. You can switch it off here:

Menu > Photo Shooting Menu > HDR (High dynamic range) > HDR mode > Off

Is the ghosting occurring with any other lens you have?

Hi Andrew

It was the HDR! Panic's over, I have reset the settings to factory defaults and it's back to normal.
I didn't think HDR would have had this sort of effect.

Best regards

Marcin.

If you use Lightroom, the app has a nice "Merge to HDR" tool that can be used to merge 2 or more exposures to a single HDR image. I recommend this over the in-camera HDR merge as you retain a bit more flexibility doing the processing out of camera.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you Bill, I will bear that in mind for future.
