After a bit of getting used to initiating eye-detect, it worked well for me. It still requires the OK button. I also tested my Tamron 70-200 mm G2 on the FTZ and everything is in order. Even eye-detect worked just as well as on the native 24-70 f/4 S.

Are you saying that after the upgrade your Tamron is fully functional? I tried my 24-70 G2 and it still does not work properly although before it did not work at all. I managed to grab couple of shots using manual focusing and a focus peaking. My Z6 didn't read the f-stop or a focal length of the Tamron and kept showing a message prompting me to press the shutter release button to reset the error. The firmware info shows C 2.0 and LF 1.0.

My Tamron 70-200 mm G2 was fully functional on my Z6 before the firmware update and it is still fully functional after the firmware update. Tamron has announced that all G2 lenses would be compatible after their lens firmware update (statement here). Did you get the latest firmware update for your Tamron 24-70 G2? It should be working.

I don't have the Tamron FW update pod (whatever this gizmo I called). I am reluctant to spend over $100 on this device that I am going to use only once.
