FW 2.0 Questionable New "Auto" Shutter Type Implementation
1

We know EFCS can be used up to 1/2000 of a second and that for shorter speeds, only Mechanical and Silent shutter types are available.

In firmware 2.0, Nikon added the "Auto" shutter type.

Why on earth, in their implementation of this new Auto Shutter Type, did Nikon decide to offer EFCS for speeds only up to 1/250 of a second instead of keeping it right up to 1/2000 and, only then, switch to the mechanical shutter ?

As for Eye-AF, after a short test this morning using my 70-200 f/4G and 85 f/1.8G, I am happy with their implementation and the results. The same goes for low light AF where I feel it is snappier and better overall.
